HISTORY
From the first time we met the incredible people of El Salvador we were humbled by the love and hospitality they showed us. We were compelled to learn more about how we could best support these communities and began to survey the different needs in these rural towns by speaking with church leaders and the families we sought to support. In doing so it became clear, our mission would be education.
Beginning with a handful of families we provided educational and material resources, monthly food staples, counseling, and medical care when necessary to help alleviate barriers our students have to achieve academically. The academic success of our students through high school led to creating an avenue to support their educational pursuits in college and vocational schools so they could transition into adulthood prepared for careers.
With this simple mission over the last 20 years we have supported hundreds of students and dozens of college graduates. Manos de Esperanza graduates are working as teachers, engineers, ????, while others are on paths to become doctors, psychologists, and business professionals. Manos graduates are leaders in their church and community, inspiring younger students, and creating a cycle of education, growth, and giving back that will change lives in Western El Salvador for generations to come.
WHAT WE DO
Our mission is to partner with families in Western El Salvador to provide educational and material resources so the students we support have opportunities to learn, grow, and chart their own course in life. We desire to have our students, after successfully completing their educational path, return the blessings they received back to their families, congregations, and communities and continue their journey as spiritual and servant leaders.
